Six Fictional Characters I Can Relate To:
Elizabeth Middleton, Into The Wilderness
Why I can relate:
Elizabeth is an ardent feminist, who would not compromise her freedom by getting married. She is content with being a spinster and adores books. She then meets a man and falls completely in love with him without disregarding any of the above qualities. I can relate to Elizabeth because I have all of these qualities. I too am an ardent feminist, and feel I can be in love without compromising that. Elizabeth is also extremely stubborn, something I am as well. I feel like Elizabeth shows that you can be with a man and still believe in women’s rights, something I feel strongly about.
Memorable Quote:
"Elizabeth Middleton, twenty-nine years old and unmarried, overly educated and excessively rational, knowing right from wrong and fancy from fact, woke in a nest of marten and fox pelts to the sight of an eagle circling overhead, and saw at once that it could not be far to Paradise."
